EROAD expands into Australia

World-leading transport technology and services company EROAD has announced its launch into Australia.

The EROAD solution includes GPS tracking, driver behaviour, business analytics and service and messaging modules, delivered within a secure and stable information system processing environment. Its system helps customers manage their vehicle fleets, improve safety outcomes, lower running costs and emissions, and enhance management control and fuel security.

EROAD launched the world’s first GPS/cellular-based road charging platform in New Zealand in 2009. The company has since grown rapidly to become the market leader in New Zealand in the provision of telematics services to heavy vehicles. In December 2012 Deloitte named it the fastest growing technology company in Australasia.

“We are very excited about our expansion into Australia,” Steven Newman, EROAD CEO, said. “We look forward to working with our Australian customers to help them operate more profitable and compliant businesses, through the use of EROAD’s innovative technology, and our focus on ongoing product development and service.”

The EROAD system achieves an independently audited 99.98% service availability. The company’s Australia databases are hosted with Amazon Web Services; and its global solution includes connecting via Vodafone’s Global Data Service Platform. EROAD Australia is based in Melbourne.

EROAD will also launch commercially in Oregon, USA this year, following the recent favourable audit of its solution by the Oregon Secretary of State’s Audits Division.
